How to Prepare For a Trek

Trekking is an active and immersive adventure. Hence, whether you live an active or sedentary lifestyle, you must invest some time on your fitness at least two months prior to your departure date. Since you will be gaining elevation on daily basis, it is imperative to have strong legs, muscular endurance for prolonged trudge and mental fortitude in order to have fun and fulfilling experience. Walk for at least an hour every day for a month, increase the duration with intermittent run in between and add some load in your day pack in order to build stamina.
If you live or work in multi-story building, avoid elevator and run up and down the steps instead. Do some sit ups and squats to strengthen leg and abdominal muscles. You can supplement it with cycling, swimming and dancing to have some cardio exercise too.
We also share a detailed checklist well in advance to prepare you better for the trek of your dream. Do read this list thoroughly and procure the items on time to be ready. The shoes are crucial part of every attempt in Himalayas, hence purchase them well on time and try them on your pre trek fitness walk to adjust properly.
