Gangotri – Tapovan Trek

Gangotri -Tapovan trek traverses entirely within the sprawling Gangotri National Park. A unique high-altitude ecosystem sandwiched between Govind National Park and Kedarnath Wild life Sanctuary.
Precipitous cliffs, deep gorges, moraine covered valley, hundreds of streams and long glaciers bridging mountain slopes are the signature to this trek
A mix of conifer subalpine montane forest and moon land like landscape provide sanctuary to charismatic animals like Snow leopard, Asiatic Black Bear, Himalayan Brown bear, Bharal and many lesser-known mammals as well as rich diversity of Palearctic bird life make this trek an interesting mélange to be experienced,
The entire trail is mostly a gentle peregrination of 24 kilometers one way along the mighty Bhagirathi River that accompanies you all the way to the Gaumukh, where it burst out from the belly of azure blue and malachite green Gaumukh glacier. The river careen, cascade and hops playfully among gigantic boulders those punctuate its rush in order to calm down its torrent.
